About Monika and Kurt Roots, and CogCubed:

Monika Roots, MD is a double-boarded Child/Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist who co-founded CogCubed with Kurt Roots, a data scientist. The company started in Minneapolis in 2011 with the broad goal of quantifying behavioral health, ultimately developing games and algorithms used in detecting behavioral health conditions utilizing multisensory platforms. They also developed a product called BioTrends, which combines medications, conditions and biometric data to build 360 degree patient profiles, bridging medical and behavioral health systems, brick and mortar and telehealth, enabling personalized medicine. CogCubed was acquired by Teladoc in 2016. Kurt remains with Teladoc as Vice President of Data Science, and Monika has started a new company in Madison called Braso Health, which focuses on addressing opioids and substance use disorders.
