Hi CCNY! Have you ever wanted to hear from a prominent founder about their experiences? It's your chance!Join us on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:00pm-7:00pm via Zoom for a Founder Fireside Chat with Arlan Hamilton, founder of Backstage Capital. This chat will be moderated by Ramona Ortega, CEO &amp; Founder of My Money My Future.Arlan Hamilton is the Founder and Managing Partner of Backstage Capital, a venture capital firm dedicated to minimizing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are people of color, women, and/or LGBT. She is also co-founder of Backstage Studio, which launched a four-city accelerator program in 2018. Arlan has been featured on the cover of Fast Company magazine as the first Black woman non-celebrity to do so, and is the author of “It’s About Damn Time” and host of the weekly podcast “Your First Million”. Arlan and her mother, Mrs. Earline Butler-Sims, announced their scholarship program which kicked-off with scholarships for Black students at Oxford University and HBCU Dillard University.

Ramona Ortega is the CEO &amp; Founder of My Money My Future and former Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Azlo, a small business banking platform. MMMF is a mission driven personal finance platform specifically addressing the unique financial needs of communities of color, helping them build wealth and to close the racial wealth gap. Previously Ortega was a Wall Street attorney and worked on complex securities litigation and corporate matters in private practice and at the SEC and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Early in her career, Ramona was the executive director of a human rights organization that worked globally on strengthening policies related to economic security. Ortega is a contributor to TechCrunch and Huffington Post and is a sought after speaker and thought leader in Fintech. She has a B.A. from UCLA and a J.D. from Fordham School of Law.We&#x27;ll send the Zoom link the morning of to the email you sign up with.
