This workshop-style online course will introduce English speakers to some of the fundamental principles behind the reading, speaking and writing of Brazilian Portuguese. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm.
This six-week session will emphasize (1) the sounds of Portuguese and their correspondence with written conventions, (2) the building of sentences through the use of verbs in the most common tenses, and (3) the acquisition of practical, everyday vocabulary.
Grammar and vocabulary presentations will be complemented with in-class practice and approximately a half-hour of exercises outside of the class time.
