Fostering Independence Grant Information Session

As part of our ongoing efforts to serve opportunity youth populations, and to promote community investment in their success, Ramsey County Workforce Solutions is organizing an in-person information session on the Minnesota Office of Higher Education’s Fostering Independence Grant (FIG) Program. All interested parties are invited to attend, but the session’s primary audience are individuals who know, work with, or are Minnesota students who lived in foster care after the age of 13. Individuals meeting this criterion are likely eligible to complete a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree program at no cost, thanks to the FIG program, and should attend the upcoming information session to learn more about how to apply.In addition to eligibility and enrollment information provided by Minnesota Office of Higher Education and Department of Human Services staff, the information session will feature testimony from one of the Program’s original sponsors: Foster Advocates CEO, Hoang Murphy, and a current program beneficiary. There will also be time at the end of the session for questions and one-on-one assistance.The information session will take place on Monday, November 28, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Rondo Community Library (461 N Dale St, Saint Paul, MN 55103). We look forward to your presence at this information session, which has been organized by Ramsey County for the benefit of this underserved segment of our community.
