Dive into the calming art of forest bathing, a peaceful way to unwind and recharge, paired with the creative fun of making beautiful sun prints (photo paper developed by UV exposure). This event is perfect for anyone looking to de-stress and explore nature-let’s soak up the good vibes together! While forest bathing can certainly be achieved alone, this session focuses on a safe, guided experience by certified Art Life Coaches in a calm group atmosphere. ---- Key benefits of forest bathing backed by research:• Decreased blood pressure and lower heart rate • Increased parasympathetic nervous system activity, leading to relaxation • Decreased cortisol levels, the stress hormone • Enhanced immune function through increased natural killer cell activity, which can last for a month after exposure These effects occur due to:• Inhaling phytoncides: Plants and trees release these aromatic compounds, which are natural anti-microbial substances. When inhaled, they affect the hippocampus, influencing emotions. For example, 3-Carene, found in pine and cedar trees, binds to GABA receptors in the brain, which are associated with relaxation.• Listening to nature sounds: Natural soundscapes like those from animals or nature are perceived as relaxing, unlike urban sounds.
