Forensic science: Dissect a flower and explore fingerprints uniqueness

May 16 and 23

Time: 5 - 6:30 pm

Age: 7 - 12

Week 1: Students will explore different types of flowers and dissect one to identify the different parts. Then they will investigate how water and nutrients ascend to the top of the plants by feeding their flowers different dyes.

Week 2: Students will explore the uniqueness of fingerprints and learn the different patterns. To learn how forensic scientists use the fingerprints for identification, students will collect and analyze their own prints, then they will play a game of collecting and matching fingerprints.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn and have fun. We will use real microscopes to peek inside the flowers and get an up-close view of your fingerprints.
