What to expect:

Following in our ancestors’ footsteps, we will walk around campus to find those species that are special to us humans - food! There are many and nutritious things that can be found if you know where to look… Come with us and learn to find and identify the delicious treats mother nature has made for us!


About BioBlitz 2024:

BioBlitz is an interactive, participatory, one-day event bringing together families, school groups, and local community members to engage in nature-based learning with University of Kent students, scientists, and local wildlife experts, including Kent Wildlife Trust; Butterfly Conservation; Kent Moth Group. Hosted by the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), the aim of the event is to record as many species of wildlife as possible on campus.

All surveys will start from the central hub in the Colyer-Fergusson hall (Near Gulbenkian). Please meet here 5-10 minutes before the start of the survey so that you can sign-in.

All surveys are free, however prior booking is encouraged to ensure surveys are not oversubscribed.
