Fred is one of the original co-founders of Pomerol Partners. This 2013 spin-out from Deutsche Bank (London) is an elite partner in the Microsoft and Qlik technology stacks.During his tenure at Deutsche Bank, he served the Equities Prime Services division in various finance roles – from analyst to controller to manager - with a specialization in Securities Lending. The idea of a business solution focused approach to data analytics was borne from realizing significant direct funding savings for the bank.He relocated from Cambridgeshire to Kansas City in 2016 to serve Pomerol’s existing US client base and grow operations. With a focus of serving the underserved midwestern cities, the approach yielded rapid success for Pomerol, now having a presence in Chicago, Denver and Miami.Fred is leading Pomerol’s US operations, with a business development focus of web app integrations and the Microsoft technology partnership.

Shawn is a problem solver, a facilitator, a vision-maker, an adviser, and a whole bunch of other things. He has been helping companies use their data to solve problems for more than 25 years. Over that time he has learned and tested numerous techniques, and developed a series of tools that ultimately came together to become Analytics TO WIN®. His mission: To help clients manage and analyze data to gain actionable insight. He helps clients achieve this mission by serving as an interim BI/Data Management/Analytics Director, by structuring and leading BI/Analytics projects, by improving user adoption, helping with data governance strategies, helping select technology solutions, and advising on data visualization best practices.

Mike hails from South Africa and is currently based in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. He is known by his clients as someone that “manages disruptions calmly, with a plan, and offers real solutions.” He came to USA in 1992 for an 18-month contract, and still is here 30 years later. He provides decades of senior-level solution delivery and technology management experience, to help broaden Pomerol Partners’ perspective on not just the capabilities of Business Intelligence (BI) in the enterprise, but also on the multiple interrelated areas of technology and strategic exercise that comprise a highly functioning business ecosystem.

Kanon is an accomplished executive leader and strategic thinker with more than 30 years of diverse technology experience. In addition to his role at Pomerol, Kanon is also the Managing Principal of Pianosa Technology Partners, a technology management consultancy focused on offering virtual-CIO and Business Intelligence &amp; Analytics services to business around the globe. Prior to starting Pianosa, Kanon spent several decades in various technical and senior management roles in a number of industries and locations. Previous roles include serving as Chief Information Officer for TranSystems Corporation and SVP of Technology Architecture for UMB Financial Corporation, and Director of Data Warehousing &amp; Information Architecture for Applebee’s International. Kanon has extensive experience in large-scale data management, software development, business intelligence, project management, information and enterprise architecture, and organizational change management. He has worked in industries as diverse as healthcare, hospitality, financial services, AEC (Architecture, Engineering &amp; Construction), and general consulting. Kanon is a regular speaker at conferences on various industry and technology topics. He is also active in numerous civic organizations focused primarily on the arts community, and serves on multiple non-profit boards; additionally, he’s a partner in several arts-related businesses. Kanon holds BA degrees in English Literature and Philosophy from William Jewell College and studied Philosophy at the graduate level at The University of Kansas. He has also completed post-graduate education at both the Harvard School of Business and MIT. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bennett Gamel is a Product Management and Product Development executive with a track record of driving revenue growth and product innovation across diverse industries and categories. Bennett championed and delivered product revenue growth at Sprint, EMBARQ, CenturyLink, DST Systems, Service Management Group, and now Pepper. Bennett is currently Head of Program Management at Pepper, the leading U.S.-based consumer IoT platform that enables businesses to build, deliver, and monetize secure connected devices and services to consumers through a sustainable revenue model. Bennett also owns and manages a 120-acre family farm operation in western Illinois and enjoys camping and gardening in his spare time.

Greg Rupp is the Vice President of Applications, Enterprise Architecture, Data &amp; Analytics at Yellow, a $5B Less Than Truckload (LTL) company headquartered in Kansas City. Before joining Yellow in 2015, Greg worked fourteen years with Accenture before founding Free State Consulting Services where he and a small team served clients in the Midwest. Greg has a variety of industry experience including retail, restaurant, manufacturing, rail, and logistics. At Yellow he leads a team of 150+ IT professionals who engineer and maintain software applications that move 70,000 shipments per day and interact with over 250,000 customers. Greg lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife Jennifer, daughter Serena, and son Thomas. He is a proud Kansan, an avid Jayhawk fan, and has stayed connected with the University of Kansas as board member and lecturer in the School of Business. Fun fact: Greg is a dog person although inexplicably his family has 2 cats and 0 dogs.

Kara Lowe serves as President &amp; CEO of KC Tech Council, a member-driven organization that serves as the shared voice of Kansas City’s tech industry. With nearly 200 member companies spanning from startup to enterprise, KC Tech Council advocates for public policy that helps the tech industry grow, champions meaningful workforce development programs to create a competitive tech talent pipeline, and brings the leaders of the tech industry together to achieve its mission of creating the Midwest’s most competitive tech hub.Before being named President &amp; CEO in May of 2022, she served for five and a half years as the organization’s COO. Her career prior to KCTC focused on leading marketing and promotions efforts for some of Kansas City’s treasured assets and events, like the Country Club Plaza. Kara currently serves on the Workforce Development board for KU Edwards Campus and is a Public Director for the board of the American Institute of Architects. She was named a member of the NextGen Leaders class of 2021 by the Kansas City Business Journal and is a 2015 graduate of the KC Chamber’s Centurions Leadership Program. A journalism graduate from the University of Kansas and Overland Park, KS native, Kara lives with her husband Pat, and two children in the Brookside area of Kansas City, MO.

Jon is an economic development professional who has spent his career focused on utilizing thoughtful development concepts to improve the community. He is passionate about his city, and has built a reputation for creativity and collaboration.Previous leadership roles include serving as president of one of the largest urban redevelopment districts in America, director of economic development for Kansas City, Kansas, and CEO of VisitKC. And, as an entrepreneur, he has guided boards and corporations to innovative success.. A University of Missouri alumnus, Jon is a frequent speaker on civic issues, and is an active board member for many organizations, including Visit KC, KC Streetcar, KCPT, Arts KC and the KCADC.
