Women are leaders, driven, resilient, multifaceted, passionate, ambitious, dedicated and so much more. We’re ending Women’s History Month highlighting stories of women in the NWSL through our Virtual Summit that’s physical, educational, and interactive. We’ll have everything from technical training to NWSL trivia to Q&A’s with some of the top players in the world! This donation-based summit is here to serve all girls! Shawna Gordon is a private soccer trainer and non-profit owner of Football For Her, based in Los Angeles CA. She played professionally here in the NWSL, in Australia, and in Sweden. She now dedicates her time to educate, motivate, and develop confidence in the youth.

MEET THE SPECIAL GUESTS

Rachel Daly was born in Harrogate, England before taking her talents to the US. She holds a record at St. John for most goals scored and only had 3 season. Not only does Rachel represent England proudly, she got drafted and found a home to the Houston Dash, a team she now captains. She led the NWSL Challenge Cup champs last year, winning the golden boot and named the MVP.

Lynn Williams grew up Fresno, CA and has been setting records since she started playing. She excelled at Pepperdine University before getting drafted to the Western NY Flash. After a breakout season in the NWSL in 2016 Lynn got called into her first of many camps with the USWNT, where she scored in her debut in a friendly against Switzerland. She now plays with the NC Courage and USWNT.

Raquel “Rocky” Rodriguez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. She moved to the US to persue an education and the soccer opportunities. She played at the University of Penn State and was selected 2nd overall in the NWSL by Sky Blue FC. She now plays for the Portland Thorns and the Costa Rican National Team. She represented Costa Rica in the biggest tournament for women at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Ali Riley grew up in Los Angeles but is half Kiwi and captains the New Zealand National team and plays for the Orlando pride. She played pro for 2 years in the US after graduating from Stanford and then spent 8 years playing professionally in Europe. During that time she became a health coach and shares her healthy recipe on instagram @love2eat2love.

Jennifer Cudjoe was born and raised in Ghana but quickly realized there aren’t many opportunities for females to play soccer in her country. Although she participated with the U17 and U20 national team she decided to moved to the states to pursue an education and her soccer career. She went to a community college for a few years before transferring to a D2 school, and then finishing at the University of Maine. Her passion and persistence earned a contract with Sky Blue FC.

Lo’eau “Lo” Labonta this southern California native was sought out by all the top colleges, landing at Stanford University. She got drafted to Sky Blue FC but ended up rostered with Kansas City for most of her Rookie season. She took her ability to Austrailia’s W-league playing with the Western Sydney Wanderers. Lo now plays a crucial role in the midfield with Kansas City of the NWSL.

Kaylyn Kyle was grew up in an athletic household in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She played one year at the University of Saskatchewan before starting her professional career with the Canadian National team. The Olympian and World Cup player took her talent to Sweden and played for multiple clubs in the NWSL before retiring with the Orlando Pride. She is now a tv host and futbol analyst.

Nicole Surdyke grew up playing soccer in New Jersey and at D1 college St. Johns. She coached youth soccer and worked in a sports performance center before going to Emory University in Atlanta where she received her doctoral degree in physical therapy. Nicole is now the director of rehabilitation at OL reign and managing the platform the [UN]injured.
