This exciting 2-day is packed with activities that not only tantalize the taste buds but also educate and engage young minds in the fascinating world of food. Here's what we have on the menu for our attendees:
Participants will learn how food grows from tiny seeds to the delicious ingredients we find on our plates. Baking and cooking are more fun when you know your numbers! Children will use measuring cups and spoons to follow recipes, helping them understand fractions and volumes in a practical, hands-on way.
Cooking can enhance reading skills as children follow step-by-step recipes. This activity boosts comprehension and teaches them the importance of following instructions to achieve delicious results.
Our event includes fun, food-themed games and activities that will get kids moving, laughing, and playing together. Safety is our top priority! Kids will be guided through the dos and don'ts of kitchen safety, including how to handle kitchen tools safely, and the importance of cleanliness. This 2-day event is May 29 and May 30 from 1:00 to 4:00.
Once registered, 4 forms will be emailed to you that are needed for the event. These can also be picked up at Margaret Sherry Library.
