Synopsis: In a small town riddled with territorial dispute, a radicalized journalist believes in exposing the atrocities committed against his community. But his beliefs are based on half-truths. As his charade continues and blurs the lines between his professional and personal life, a deathly consequence makes him reflect back on a simpler time when he had not yet succumbed to radicalization.

Director: Harshad NalawadeHarshad Nalawade is an Indian filmmaker from Belgaum, Karnataka. His debut feature film, Follower, is based on his own experiences of living as part of a linguistically marginalized community of the town. The film had its World Premiere at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, 2023. Follower was partially crowdfunded and was selected for the NFDC Work-in-Progress Lab, 2021. A graduate of Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, he started his career in films by writing and directing short films while working as an Assistant Director. Harshad's first short film, A Return Gift was nominated for Best Short at the New York Indian Film Festival, 2016. His most recent work is Soup, a Netflix series directed by Abhishek Chaubey, produced by Macguffin Pictures that Harshad co-created and co-wrote. He is currently developing his next feature.
