VIRTUAL - Folded Book Structures with Amelia Kieras
Use folding and pop-up paper crafting techniques to create three small artist books.
2-Part, 4 Hour Virtual Workshop
Saturday, July 11 – 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm
Description: Students will join on Zoom and work with different alternative book structures using folding and pop-up paper crafting techniques to create three small artist books. In the morning session, students will be introduced to various book structures and learn techniques needed to create marvelous books. Then students are invited to work on their projects while enjoying lunch at home and come back to the afternoon session with any questions.
In the afternoon, students will continue to work and learn and create their three small artist books.
Tuition: $40
Materials: Students are responsible for gathering their own tools and materials for this virtual workshop.
Tools needed:
- Cutting mat
- ruler
- bone folder ( or butter knife)
- Xacto knife
- scissors
- pencil
- adhesive (PVA or double sided tape preferred, but Elmers glue or a glue stick will work too)
Materials needed:
- 3 sheets 11x14 paper, medium weight paper ( Drawing weight as opposed to copy or sketch weight)
- 2-3 sheets 8.5x11 cardstock for covers
- printed templates for pop up shapes, print on solid color cardstock (these will be provided prior to the workshop)
- scrap cardstock, drawings, pictures, magazines or other printed material to use for experimenting and source material with pop ups
Location: The comfort of your own home!
Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded by check, to your credit card, or Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
