Have you wanted to explore fly tying but didn’t know where to start? Did you get a fly-tying kit and it all looks strange to you? Join the staff at Pequest Natural Resource Education Center and let us walk you through the tools and process of fly tying. This class is 2 days*, each day will be two hours.
This class is for non-experienced fly-tiers.
Day 1, June 9, 2 pm - 4 pm - We will go over all of the basic tools, fly tying vices, materials and how to start and finish a fly.
Day 2, June 12, 2 pm -4 pm - You will get to tie a classic woolly bugger, an extremely productive fly. When you leave day two you will have a few woolly buggers to take with you.
All tools and materials will be provided.

Age Limits
For ages 12 years and above. Participants 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Cost
$10.00 (covers both days) payable day of by credit card or check made out to State of NJ.
Arrival
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. We will start promptly. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be permitted into the program.
Cancellations
NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. You can cancel through Eventbrite or email us at pequest@dep.nj.gov. Programs at Pequest Natural Resource Education Center are RAIN or SHINE, but in the event of severe weather, classes may be canceled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible.
