Fly Foundations: Striptease 101

The Fly Honeys are a femme-powered, queer punk performance project shaking ass + celebrating body, sex and self. Born from Chicago’s underground, they are creative shape-shifters — pulling in burlesque, cabaret, variety, music and comedy through high-energy choreography, grand spectacle, and a rotating cast of nationally lauded artists. Now Chicago legends, they are faithfully recognized for their queer-celebratory, glitter-bombing, femme-powered, & unabashed ass shaking performances. Their iconic performances are genre/gender-bending; where pleasure is king and politics favor the queens.

<h3>Honey Moves : Fly Foundations</h3><h4>Striptease 101</h4><h4>with Po'Chop</h4> Sunday August 25 12pm - 1:30pm Visceral Dance Center: 3121 North Rockwell Street, Chicago, Illinois 60618Join renowned burlesque artist, Po'Chop, for a 90 minute crash course that will delve into elements of burlesque. Whether a curious novice or an experienced burlesquer this workshop is sure to leave you oozing with confidence and rooted in the foundation of striptease. We'll cover everything from bumps and grinds to shimmies and struts. Class will begin with a warm up and transition into across the floor exercises and culminate with a choreographed combination.Participants should bring water and a piece of clothing to practice removing.Heels/shoes optional.______ABOUT Po'ChopJenn Freeman | Po’Chop (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist, spacemaker and educator who has been navigating the Chicago performance scene for over 15 years. Weaving together storytelling, burlesque, drag, digital art and dance into their artmaking, Po’Chop is known for creating experiences that are irreverent and transformative all while centering the lived experiences of Black queer folks. Each class will be a unique experience from the next, where we hope you will dive into something brand new or return to something familiar to get deeper into your groove. <h4>SLIDING SCALE CLASS RATE:</h4><h4>Class rates are made available on a tiered system, ranging from $25- free99.
