Guest Check-in & Registration

10:30 - 10:40 AM:

Welcome & Introduction

Greeted by the Pittsburgh Embodiment team, we welcome each other with an opening circle and a traditional meditation practice known as Calling in the Directions. This practice led by spiritual practitioner Jessica Rosario, weaves the language of modern metaphysics with this ancient wisdom practiced by indigenous cultures from all over the world. This practice symbolizes the importance of balance within ourselves and our connection with the natural world and is essential for rooting into our awareness.

10:40 - 11:40 AM:

Refuge Within the Willow

Led by Alexa Jaques of Imaginative Movement

Musical accompaniment by Pgh Embodiment Ensemble (Dave O'Brien, Emiliano Ena, and Jessica Rosario)

A moving meditative that explores the symbolism between the willow tree and the human experience by way of movement and music. This piece provides space to explore adaptability, grief and rebirth by embodying the terrain of the Willow tree, along with elements of the earth. The purpose of this piece is to offer space for growth and reflection of ourselves in nature. We are mirrors of the nature around us. We can utilize nature as a resource to grieve, heal, and rebirth from our internal and external human experiences.

11:40 AM - 12:30 PM

Community Art Expression:

Curated by Christy Owens

Together we will form a woven tapestry piece of community and heritage. This time of weaving our symbolic roots allows us to conceptualize the community we want to create as well as to practice it by working together to create a beautiful and vibrant art piece. Creating community art is collaborative in nature, teaching us patience, releasing expectations and attachments, speaking truth into existence as we notice and pay attention to spoken and unspoken boundaries and dynamics.

11:40 AM to 12:30 PM

Sound Lounge with LIVE Plants:

Led by Ash Roenigk of Ash Yoga Sound Beyond

A creative lounge space immersed in a harmonious blend of melodies curated to enhance cognitive abilities & brain function while soothing the senses. This session features the sonic symphony of modular plant music soundscapes, where nature's gentle melodies come to life. This enchanting auditory experience harnesses the subtle vibrations and electrical signals of plants, transforming them into harmonious soundscapes. Each note and rhythm mirrors the plants' responses to their environment, creating a dynamic and soothing musical journey, connecting you to the hidden musical world of flora.

NOTE: BYO tea, snacks, blankets, art supplies, instruments, journals, etc to enjoy this sound textured landscape. Bring a plant if you’d like to hear it play! Make a friend while you’re here :)

12:30 PM to 1:00 PM

5Rhythms Warm-up : Body Parts Exercise to LIVE Percussion

Led by Alyssa Johns of B3Productions

Musical accompaniment by Pgh Embodiment Ensemble (Dave O'Brien, Emiliano Ena, and Jessica Rosario)

This exercise is a gentle somatic warm-up created by Gabrielle Roth and is foundational to any 5Rhythms practice. In this exercise, participants systematically focus on different parts of their body, starting from the feet and moving upwards, gradually awakening and mobilizing each part with conscious movement, breath, and awareness. This helps to bring attention to the body's sensations, release tension, and establish connection between mind and body.

About 5Rhythms: Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action.

1 PM to 2:30PM

Dance Lab Pittsburgh:

Featuring live Back2Back sets with Emiliano Ena (DJ Tala) and Jessica Rosario (Sound Body Initiative)

Following our 5Rhythms Warm-up, continue to put your body-mind in motion through a freestyle conscious world-dance party to celebrate our lessons, our healing, and our joy through the embodiment of movement and dance.

2:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Sound Healing and Closing Meditations

Lead by Pgh Embodiment Project Team with sound artists Ash Roenigk, Emiliano Ena, Jesse Tree, and Jessica Rosario

3 PM: Enjoy the rest of the day feeling refreshed, connected, and alive!
