Alma Dance Theateris a female-centric performing group, created and directed by Miami native choreographer Marissa-Alma Nick. Taking on contemporary social issues through dance, the company deemed "provocative, intelligent & unexpected" by the Miami New Times, is a sheer force of nature that will leave you wanting more. Wanting to create an opportunity for their audience to “see themselves” in the work, the artists that makeup Alma Dance Theater are a bold reflection of Miami’s international and immigrant-based culture.

Flowers For Spring (the art of forgetting and dying) is the latest reincarnation of the story about two grandmothers who have succumb to dementia and Alzheimer's in their final days. This moving and inspiring evening length contemporary dance performance is inspired by choreographer Marissa Alma Nick and the loss of both of her grandmothers in 2015. Flowers For Spring is a winner of the 2017 <A HREF="http://www.knightfoundation.org/challenges/knight-arts-challenge" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Knight Arts Challenge Award</A> and immerses the audience into a beautiful landscape of forgotten memories.
