Join us for the first public sharing of float. Pleasure, a durational performance meditation presented by 7NMS | M + E.
Designed for audiences to come and go, this live happening unfolds inside a spatially composed, real-time sonic environment built from referential, found, and soul archives by sound designer Everett Saunders. Sound and body move in continuous dialogue.
At its center: one performer and one sound artist in sustained exchange. Viewers witness Marjani’s deliberate practice of joy and pleasure across shifting embodied states—an evolving physical inquiry into endurance, vitality, and presence. Here, pleasure is not decorative; it is structural.
This work forms the generative foundation for the ensemble pieces float.: Phase I & II, offering an intimate look at the research shaping the larger project.
Audience members may enter and exit quietly at any time. No prior dance knowledge is needed—just a willingness to listen, observe, and settle into the experience.
Space is limited.
This performance iteration is supported in part by the Center for Provocative Thought / Effie House and the City of Santa Monica’s Art of Recovery Microgrant Program.
The Camera Obscura Art Lab is situated in Palisades Park and is a short walk from the Downtown Santa Monica Metro E-Line and the entrance of the Santa Monica Pier.
