On Memorial Day, Fleet Farm stores will honor fallen soldiers by participating in Taps Across America. At 3 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024, a live bugler will sound Taps at all Fleet Farm stores. This special sounding of Taps will be directly preceded by a storewide minute of silence during the National Moment of Remembrance. A local community Color Guard will join in the ceremony.

The Taps Across America tribute was started in 2015 by Taps for Veterans founder Jari [YAR-ee] Villanueva, a retired Air Force bugler. In 2020, Taps Across America took off nationally when Taps for Veterans teamed up with CBS News to spread this new tradition across the country. The overwhelming response sparked a movement of tens of thousands of individual buglers and trumpeters, joining together separately and in unison to sound Taps in their local communities at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day. This nationwide salute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country is now in its tenth year and going strong.
