About this event

Three years ago, we asked ourselves if it was possible to grow and craft our own cloth, and now we have a thriving Flax-to-Linen program.

Our program is a season-long, hands-on experience that dives deep into growing, processing, and learning about this beautiful plant and fiber. Volunteers will help manage our flax garden from seed throughout the growing season. You will learn about the history of flax production and this plant's deep relationship with people over generations. We hope that you will develop your own relationship with Flax’s entire life cycle and explore hand-processing techniques to turn previous flax crops into cloth.

This program runs on Tuesdays from late March through November 2024. The beginning (March-mid-June) and end of the season (mid-August-November) will have bi-weekly programming, and there will be weekly programming in the summer (mid-June-mid-August). The time will also shift earlier in the fall to accommodate the light change.

If you'd like to sign up as a volunteer for the entire growing season, please fill out the following application form to join our flax apprenticeship. https://bit.ly/tivoliflax24
