Enjoy an intimate show co-hosted by Flamenco! Santa Barbara. Maria Bermudez, artistic director, invites you to be transported to Andalucia with this lively experience. The event begins with a short wine and cheese reception. Seating is assigned and reservations are required.

Special guest Isaac Tovar (Sevilla, Spain) is an award-winning dancer, choreographer and educator. He was a longtime soloist with Ballet Nacional de España, Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, Nuevo Ballet Español and Compañía Antonio El Pipa and in 2017, he founded Isaac Tovar Compañía Flamenca, premiering work at Madrid's Teatro Real. He served as soloist in “Ainadamar” for the Metropolitan Opera, Welsh National Opera and Detroit Opera, and currently, the LA Opera. Tovar is the recipient of numerous awards including the Concurso IV Internacional de Danza in Almería, the Concurso Nacional de la Perla de Cádiz and the XXVII Concurso Nacional de Ubrique. He won the 2nd prize for Solo Choreography in the XXV Certamen de Danza Española y Flamenco in Madrid, and semifinalist in the LIX Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas.
Special guest Alfredo Tejada (Granada, Spain) is a flamenco singer currently performing in the LA Opera production of “Ainadamar.” He previously performed in the Metropolitan Opera and has appeared at many of the world’s most prominent flamenco festivals, as well as at the Beijing National Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, Rome’s Teatro Olimpico, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza. Among his accolades include the 2020 Festival de Jerez Award for Best Accompaniment Singer, the 2017 Lámpara Minera at the Cante de las Minas for Best International Flamenco Singer, 1st National Prize for Young Values in Rincón de la Victoria in 2009, best farruca in Ubrique in 2004, and 1st Prize for Young Flamencos in Granada in 2002. He has recorded four albums, including most recently Un Silencio en el Tiempo with pianist Mélodie Gimard.
Guitarist Andres Vadin’s talent spans genres while highlighting the flamenco guitar as a universal instrument with no boundaries. He graduated from the Guillermo Tomas and Almadeo Roldan Conservatory in Habana, Cuba and his worldwide career has included collaborations on Latin Grammy-nominated albums.
Percussionist Diego "El Negro" Alvarez is a master cajón player originally from Venezuela who lived in Spain for two decades developing his career alongside the prestigious artists such as Joaquin Cortez, Antonio Canales, Sara Baras, Nuevo Ballet Español and Paco Peña. His work includes 12 Latin Grammy nominations and Best Rock album of the year for "Sera" by La Vida Boheme.
