Flagship International Symposium
Anderson University, Flagship Enterprise Center and Corporation for Economic Development will be hosting the first Flagship International Symposium on TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 2017, 9:30am to 1:30pm. The symposium will educate and give you information on cultural exchange, cultural awareness and business practices of international businesses here in Madison County and throughout the world. Madison County is a growing global location for international industry and business. Educating the current workforce and community on the practices and cultural customs of those international companies relocating to our area. Currently Madison County has 8 countries represented: Japan, Israel, Canada, Switzerland, China, Germany, Italy and Thailand. There are 17 international companies in our county, with more all the time.
"We Are International" is a video to be premiered during this symposium. Corporation for Economic Development has procured The Story Shop (from Pendleton, IN) to make a video regarding the international companies that are located within Madison County, Indiana. This video will be used to promote Madison County and how other international companies can become a part of our growing international community! Their previous video is entitled "We Are Madison County" high-lights our great county and all of our benefits and opportunities.
THE SESSION WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
International Protocol: a tool for building relationships and removing unnecessary distractions in international business and diplomacy. This dynamic and interactive session will introduce keys to successfully engaging in the global arena.
Global Competency: learn how intercultural communication skills can improve relations between you and your international counterparts and/or colleagues in a diverse workforce.
Space is limited. Registration fee is $25.00 per attendee, which includes a morning session (9:45am to 11:15am) with the International Center, along with a different topic (11:30am to 1:00pm) during the international buffet lunch, a goody bag and printed materials. Is my registration/ticket transferrable? If you are unable to attend the event after you register and pay, you may transfer your ticket to another person that is not already registered. There are no refunds available after registration has been paid. (REFUNDS WILL BE MADE TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO REGISTERED FOR THE NOVEMBER 2016 EVENT WHO CANNOT ATTEND THE MARCH 7, 2017 SYMPOSIUM.)
