Welcome to the Flag City Honor Walk!
We are so happy you are here! My name is Jacob and I am a Marine Corps vet who unfortunately lost one of my best friends to suicide in 2017 while we were both stationed in Japan. When I got out of the military, I too battled with my own mental health and it made me realize how important it is for other vets to have access to the best mental health care. I started this walk last year, where I walked 68 miles non-stop from Findlay to Sidney, Ohio to bring awareness to veteran suicides. 22 a day is 22 too many!
This year I wanted to try to get the Flag City community involved to show others that they do not walk alone with their demons. Will you join us? We will be walking 10 miles (Don't feel pressured to do the whole amount, walk whatever distance you feel comfortable with) to help raise money for the Headstrong Project who provides barrier-free, stigma-free mental health treatment for veterans & their families.
After our walk, there will be food trucks, vendors & entertainment waiting for us at the Hancock County Fairgrounds starting at 12pm for anyone in the community to enjoy!
