The Welton Street corridor and the Five Points community has a unique and rich African American and jazz history. The Five Points neighborhood was once known as the “Harlem of the West”, as many of the great jazz musicians of the 1930s-1950s performed in local clubs and bars whose buildings still stand today.

Bring your family and friends to Five Points on Saturday, December 9th for the 4th annual Holiday Stroll! Take a free stroll on Saturday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate the joys of the holiday season while exploring the Welton Street Corridor and all it has to offer.Stroll to the tune of familiar holiday favorites sung by carolers as you take in the festive sights throughout the corridor. Make stops along the way to participate in a variety of activities that are fun for the whole family. There will be ornament making, gingerbread house decorating, live holiday story-telling, s’mores roasting and a photo opportunity with Santa and more.In addition to creating meaningful holiday memories, this event also supports small businesses located in the historical corridor. Bring a pair of new warm socks that the District will donate to a local non-profit. In exchange for the socks, families will be given a Strollin’ Guide with a map to all of the delicious treats and warm drinks from businesses on Welton Street.Join us for an unforgettable, fun-filled holiday celebration that’s bound to become your family’s new favorite tradition. We can’t wait to see you and yours in Five Points on December 9th!
