Colorado Springs Chapter 17th Annual Fishing Event

Who: Persons with disabilities, friends, family, and attendants

What: Two day event PACKED with fishing, boating, raffles, prizes

When: September 14th and 15th, 2024 - Participant Check-in begins at 8:30am. Registration Deadline is August 25th, 2024.


Fishing is from 10:00am –3:00pm

Where: Lake Pueblo State Park - Meet at South Shore Boat Ramp

Why: To open the world of fishing and the great outdoors to people of all abilities!

Provided: Rods, reels, life vests, adaptive fishing equipment, bait, fish cleaning, boats, pontoons, guides, light breakfast and lunch!

Join us for one or two days of fun, fishing and camaraderie! Cost Per Day: $35 per participant, $15 per friend, family or attendant. A limited number of scholarships are available. Our goal is to have additional family and friends placed on the same watercraft, provided space is available. We will notify you of any changes as they are announced.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There are no ID requirements or age limits.

Are there scholarships available?

Yes, there are a limited number of scholarships available. We invite our Military personnel with disabilities to participate at no cost. Please call or email Cheryl for details.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Each individual or group is responsible for their own transportation to the event. When you arrive at the South Shore Park Entrance let them know that you are with the FHNB event and you will not be required to pay for a park pass. Follow the signs for event parking.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, please see contact list for specific individual email addresses.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

An email confirmation is sufficient.

What is the refund policy?

Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the event for a refund. Arriving after 10am may result in losing your place on your assigned boat and forfeiting your registration fee(s).

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

No, we need details that are specific to the individual. You would need to cancel your reservation and have the new person fill out a registration form for themselves.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

No, the participants name must appear on the registration.

Can I register more than one person?

Yes you can, you just need to enter the number of tickets needed and fill out the required information.

Do I need a fishing license to participate?

Anyone 16 and older must have a license to fish. However, there is a lifetime free fishing license available. For more information visit: https://cpw.state.co.us/aboutus/Pages/Lifetime-Fishing.aspx

Can I pay by check?

Yes, however payment must be received by September 7, 2024. If you are being sponsored by an organization, click the Pay at Event option and we will contact you.

Are there sleeping accommodations nearby?

Yes, there are several hotel options in Pueblo or camping at the State Park. CSFHNB does not make these reservations for you. You must contact them directly. Arkansas Point is the Campground that is nearest to the Event. You can make reservations now. This will sell out quickly so it is recommended that you make these as soon as possible

The Colorado Springs Chapter was started in 2007 and is part of the national FHNB organization. Our mission is to introduce fishing opportunities for the disabled community. This is our 17th year of operating this event. We have grown from 2 participants and their families to 46 participants and their families in 2023.
