About this event

Welcome back to campus!

Organizational Development & Learning and The Newbury Center have teamed up with BU Diversity & Inclusion to create a new line of programming to support faculty and staff who identify as first-generation professionals*.

This new series will launch in the fall semester and will include social and networking opportunities, resource development, and professional development programming to support the experiences of our first-generation faculty and staff.

The Terrace Lounge has both indoor and outdoor space for socializing. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks when not eating or drinking.

*First-generation professionals are defined as faculty or staff who were themselves first-generation students, i.e. the first in their generation of their family to go to college. That is, their parents, guardians, or caregivers did not earn a bachelor’s degree, although elder siblings and cousins may be attending college already or have earned four-year degrees.
