 First Climb - with DRALLA Foundation

The mission of OPAF and The First Clinics is to foster physical fitness, community participation, and peer interaction by providing introductory-level adaptive recreation for individuals with physical and mobility challenges.

OPAF and The First Clinics

Are you ready to defy gravity?  Join us for First Climb, an introduction to adaptive rock climbing.  Climbing is a great activity to improve your balance, flexibility, and strength while having a blast.  Our goal is to show you how to navigate the wall and safely use the climbing equipment.  All levels of ability and experience are welcome.  If you have a physical or mobility challenge, this workshop is for you.  First Climb is a great way to meet peers, learn a new hobby, and develop your problem-solving skills.  We encourage you to bring a family member, friend, or caregiver.  They can act as your climbing partner, provide moral support, or just hang out and have fun!
Your instructor is Tommy Lyons.  He is a world-class paraclimber and climbing instructor. He will assisted by Danit Mark with Peak Potential.
Adaptive Training will begin at 10 am.  If you are not belay trained, please plan to join us at 9 am.  Belay training is mandatory.
Participants and their families should plan to join us at 12;15 for lunch and meet and greet.  First Climb will get underway at 1 pm.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for exercise. 
The following information is a waiver required for your participation.  You will be asked to acknowledge this information when you register.  If you would like a separate copy emailed to you, please contact the organizer.
