Firearms Safety - Phase 2

Description (NRA certificate issued): If you just received your NYS pistol license and need a safety refresher or are applying for a CT license and need a practical firearms safety class with the NRA certificate, this is the course for you.
Part 1: Will be conducted in a classroom, students will review firearms safety, proper storage of a firearm and range safety. Part 1 also includes the fundamentals of pistol shooting, loading, unloading and pistol maintenance.
Part 2: Will be conducted on the pistol range, where students from a bench and standing will review shooting positions and perform a qualification.
Students will review sight alignment, sight picture, stance, breathing, trigger control, follow-through, load, fire, reload and unload a handgun, learn to avoid common pistol shooting errors and clear common pistol malfunctions.
At the end of Part 2, students will perform a shooting qualification, from level 1 basic to level 3 advanced, this is done in accordance to the NRA lesson plans to ensure proper knowledge and safety.
-Calibers Allowed: .380, 9mm, 38spl, .357sig, 10mm, 40mm and 45acp
-Holster: Strong side OWB, IWB or AIWB and must cover the trigger guard
-Gunbelt: Stiff gunbelt that properly fits your holster is highly recommended
-Ammo Count: +/-200 rounds
-Ammo Capacity: Recommended, if available, 3 semi-auto pistol magazines or 3 revolver speedloaders
-Eye and Ear Protection: Is a must! A wraparound eye and electronic ear protection are highly recommended
-Hat w/ Brim: Highly recommended for additional eye protection
-Shooting Vest: Optional but highly recommended (vest, shirt, jacket, t-shirt, etc.)
*Restrictions: No Exceptions! The safety of everyone is our # 1 priority!
-We Run a Cold Range: If you arrive w/ a loaded pistol, keep it holstered. Do not remove your pistol from a holster or gun bag, even if unloaded in the "designated safety area". We’ll call you to the firing line to get your handgun ready for the class.
-Holster: "No Serpa" style (look it up) or soft materials will be allowed. If you need your fingers to holster your gun, it's too soft.
-Ammo: No magnum rounds or ammo with muzzle velocity above 1,500 ft/ps
*Weather: Check the weather and dress accordingly, we shoot outdoors. You'll be notified of a cancellation due to weather conditions prior to class.
*Food and Beverages: Soda/water is available at the range for purchase, bring your own food or snacks
*NYC Residents: No "premises license" allowed on this range. If you have questions regarding your pistol license, please contact NYPD licensing division prior to registering for this class to ensure your participation.
*Refunds/Credits: A refund will be granted, minus any processing fees (if applicable), for requests made 24hrs prior to the date of the class or if class is cancelled by Nicys Ltd due to weather conditions. If you miss the class and did not inform Nicys 24hrs prior to the date of class, only a credit will be issued. In order to get your credit, you must contact Nicys and apply the credit towards the next class or event within 6 months of the original date. No credits or refunds will be granted afterwards.
