The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Johnson County was formed in the spring of 2019, with the mission to prevent suicide by mobilizing the community through education and use of resources to increase awareness and decrease stigma.

Training Location

T﻿he Suicide Prevention Coalition of Johnson County has partnered with Johnson County Sheriff Deputy and expert firearm instructor DJ Neutzmann to provide a free Firearm Safety Training for the community. Teens can participate provided a guardian is also present. T﻿his training will cover basic firearm safety including safe storage options and handling, followed by shooting fundamentals. Dress for the weather and be sure to bring: your firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection. W﻿hile this training is capped at 20 participants, additional individuals are welcome to attend with participants to watch and learn without firearm shooting or handling. There is a separate ticket option at check out. R﻿each out to DJ Neutzmann with questions at 317-412-0855. A﻿ member of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Johnson County will be onsite and can provide free gunlocks and resources related to suicide prevention.
