We invite you to experience something multidimensional, interactive, and shared.What is Fingir?“Dar a entender algo que no es cierto.” “To pretend or imply something that is not true.”Fingir is a project showcasing artists from the Central American diaspora, whose mission is to highlight issues and topics traditionally considered culturally taboo, and strengthen the intergenerational ties between families and their roots. The term “fingir” refers to the societal pressures of conforming to an absolute truth, rather than embracing a dichotomy in which both truths coexist simultaneously. Fingir is a space for us to be exactly who we are, dissolving the misconception of a homogenous, singular identity, and reclaiming the right to categorize ourselves the way we choose.ABOUT THIS EVENT:Somewhere Between is an intergenerational conversation surrounding where we find ourselves on this journey between old country and new. Where do you find yourself and what feels true to you? At Dupont Underground we are doing our best to make sure our space is as safe as possible! We follow DC&#x27;s mask mandate and the CDC guidelines; we will adapt accordingly if they change between now and September.For EXHIBITIONS we will be requiring masks for all guests, regardless of vaccination status.For LIVE EVENTS we will be requiring either (1) a vaccination card showing fully vaccinated status or (2) a negative COVID test results from the past 48 hours before a guest can enter the space. For more information on where to get Covid-19 testing; the CVS in Dupont Circle also provides free Covid-19 tests. Vaccination cards or negative Covid-19 test results will be checked at the front entrance upon arrival.
