The Finding Scoliosis Kindly Educational Symposium, organized by New York State Youth Poet Laureate OlaRose Ndubuisi, will be held on June 29th from 2pm to 4pm in Rochester, New York. Join us at the Henrietta Public Library for an informative, fun, and interactive event to learn about scoliosis, how you can help children who have it, and raise positive awareness for scoliosis in the community. Mayor Malik D. Evans, the Mayor of Rochester, will give opening remarks at the FiSK Symposium.


This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.


Symposium Agenda:

  1. Poetry recitation by OlaRose Ndubuisi
  2. Art presentation by OlaRose Ndubuisi
  3. Opening Remarks by Mayor Malik D. Evans
  4. Scoliosis Seminar by OlaRose Ndubuisi
  5. Panel Discussion (Orthopedic surgeon, pediatrician, yoga instructor, physical therapist).
  6. FiSK Workshops:
  • Free Scoliosis Screening by Medical Professionals
  • Yoga and Physical Therapy Workshops
  • Art and Writing Workshop by OlaRose Ndubuisi to teach young people how to use creative outlets to cope with emotions and invisible struggles.
