Workshop Description
For many trauma survivors, the past does not remain in the past. Unwanted memories can surge into the present—disorienting, multisensory, and often overwhelming. This seminar is designed to equip helpers with the understanding and skills necessary to support those who experience intrusive episodes of re-traumatization.
Drawing on Psalm 46 and current insights into trauma, we will help attendees comprehend the physical, emotional, and spiritual dynamics involved in re-experiencing trauma. Participants will learn to identify the various manifestations of intrusive memories, respond effectively in the moment, and support those suffering with hope grounded in the gospel.
Whether you are new to trauma care or a seasoned counselor, you will be inspired to minister as someone who embodies the refuge and strength of God.
