The Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Modell Consulting Group, LLC, in delivering a comprehensive series of training sessions focused on the forensic interviewing of adults with disabilities.

This series is designed for professionals with roles and experience in or working with adult victims with disabilities and witnesses of abuse and crimes such as Adult Protective Service (APS) investigators, forensic interviewers, prosecutors and law enforcement.

**Please note, to attain certification, participants must be present for all scheduled training dates. Prior to registering for these sessions, we kindly request that you review the minimum requirements outlined below to ensure your eligibility.**

5 Days: Foundations for Forensic Interviewing Adults with Disabilities

**No minimum requirements

  6. Monday, September 9 - Friday, September 13, 2024 (Location Pittsfield MA)



The FIND Five-Day Foundations for Forensic Interviewing Adults training is designed for professionals with roles and experience in or working with adult victims and witnesses of crime and individuals with disabilities. The training is founded in forensic interviewing best practices with considerations for memory, trauma and cultural background.


4 Days: Advanced Forensic Interview Certificate

**Minimum requirements include: Completion of basic forensic interviewing training (min 32 hours) or, completion of 100 interviews and/or a minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.

  2. Monday, April 8 – Thursday, April 11, 2024 (Location Hampden DA)
  3. Tuesday, April 16 – Friday, April 19, 2024 (Location DPPC)
  4. Tuesday, June 4 - Friday, June 7, 2024 (Location DPPC)


The FIND Four-Day Advanced Forensic Interviewing Certificate is designed for established forensic interviewers with previous basic training and extensive experience in forensic interviewing and/or working with individuals with disabilities. The certificate is founded in forensic interviewing best practices with considerations and adaptations to account for individual disability, mental health disorder, language capacity and cultural background.


3 Days: Adapted for Individuals Who do not Speak

**Minimum requirements include: Completion of basic forensic interviewing training (min. 32 hours) and/or equivalent investigative or interviewing training; Demonstrated experience in interviewing and/or investigating allegations of abuse and neglect.

  1. Tuesday, April 30 - Thursday, May 2, 2024 (Location DPPC)
  2. Tuesday, June 11 - Thursday, June 13, 2024 (Location Hampden DA)
  3. Wednesday, July 10 - Friday, July 12, 2024 (Location DPPC)


The FIND Three-Day Adapted for Individuals Who do not Speak training is designed for established forensic interviewers with previous basic training and extensive experience in forensic interviewing and or working with individuals with disabilities. The training is founded in forensic interviewing best practices with considerations and adaptations to account for individuals who do not speak, use gestures to communicate, speak few words or utilize a communication device.

  • 12:00p – 1:00p Lunch (Provided)
  • 12:00p – 4:30p Training (Includes 15 min. break)

  • Take the public access elevator to the 5th floor, attendees will be greeted by the receptionist.

  • There are parking options available both within the building and in other nearby areas.
  • Parking in the Building: If you choose to park within the building, please note that it will lead you to a different level (C/B) rather than entering from the ground floor.

Arrival Process:

  • Access to offices within the building is restricted, you will not be able to enter the offices without assistance.
  • Each security desk will have a list of attendees' names, ensuring a smooth arrival process.
  • Upon your arrival, check in with security and you will then be escorted to the correct floor by either building security or a member of the District Attorney’s office.
