ABOUT: W hat is "Finbruary" ?

We are developing a collaborative celebration with the international celebration of Black History Month to educate and experience the love for Black Mythology Folktales & Urban Legends. Faeries, Gods, Forest Spirits, Sirens, and more! This year we are focus on sea creatures of the Black Folktale stories while celebrating this historic heart thrilling movie, Live action Disney's Little Mermaid played by Hallie Bailey. There is a lot to learn! Spiritually and Culturally. Last year, we held a contest entry and showcase a few of our talented artist to be featured in New York Weekly Article (link.) from our Afro Magicka Guild.

T he First week of Februray is focus on the Fae-Forest creatures, Faebruary. Second half of the month, is Finbruary, for the sea creatures! Next year after Finbruary 2024, we plan to develop a event for Faebruary week! Please stay tune!

We host this smaller scale event as a social gathering as a Kickstarter to fundraise RealmScape Fest 2025. A BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ Festival event celebrating mythical cultures of colors!

Why Host a "Swim & Watch Party"?

Little Mermaid Movie was a special prize to many and we offered Gift cards and other DMV events or Black own Events help many families accomplish to see the film in theater: Afro Mermaid, BlerdCon, Mermagic Con, Ocean Renn, Baltimore Fairy Faire, Afro Magicka, Pride Fey & most of all RealmScape! The movie was such a driven passion for all especially black children that may of not had the means..to see the film we featured Afro Magicka Hero, a known Cosplayer (@Blk.unicorn_Cosplay) hosted their own giveaway. It wasn't just the fact the actress who was casted to play as Ariel was black. It was the hate she receive when she earned the part. As a Community, we fought and supported the outcome of the film and what it would mean to many. Having this social gathering we want to honor the dedication the community took and have one final celebration for this overall beautiful positive presentational film.

Calling all Afro Faes & Magi or just supportive allies of the Afro-Magicka Community! We are hosting a Swim-in Watch Party to see the Live-Action Little Mermaid movie! Small majority of the BIPOC community have tried to share the celebration to watch this wonderful film on the big screen, but we know there are still a small vast number that has not enjoyed it yet! We host to celebrate this to try to help everyone once again!

Invite a friend, bring your favorite floaty, Check out the Aquatic Market for Finbruary. There will be two showings. First session for everyone and the second session just for adults. We will have breaks every half hour of the film to give everyone a moment to replenish themselves out of the water or enjoy a small performance or play games. We will be asking for donations as this social gathering will be one of our Kickstarter events for RealmScape 2025.

T he Vendor Application is now open, including Volunteers & Performers. We are hoping to make this a very interactive fun splashing experience with a show hosts and small acts.

Celebrate our Month of awareness during Black History Month in February. #AfroFaebruary 1st-14th, or #AfroFinbruary 14th-28th . Once a year we will celebrate every other year between The Garden and the Water.

What's a "Quirky" Fey? : A non-binary or genderfluid person under queer fae umbrella who can be any combination of gender identities or sexual orientations.

What is a Fae/Fey?: Umbrella term for all fae species from folklore or Mythology. Which includes Seelie and Unseelie (Good & Evil). Person Identified by their lifestyle which includes spiritual practices, routine hobbies, social behaviors, or collection of various objects. Which some maybe creations of their own. Fae may possess various spiritual powers and have strong sense of their surrounding or connection to certain elements than most. The term is inclusive of one's gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation or cultural religious background. Fae is not always considered cosplay.
