Filmmakers for Ukraine | Impact Panel & Networking Event

In order to support Filmmakers for Ukraine, NEW MOON Films is hosting a virtual networking event & providing creatives with a high value digital resource kit. Filmmakers are invited to participate in an interactive panel with impact film professionals designed to help them connect with other filmmakers in their home communities and around the world. Participants are provided access to private mailing lists and social networks for impact filmmakers and given free and/or early access to exclusive crewing platforms in the US, Western Europe & Africa promoting international co-production & collaboration on future projects.

ABOUT US

Launched by Crew United, Filmmakers For Ukraine is an independent group of international filmmakers that gathered after the start of the war in Ukraine. The group created an online platform https://filmmakers-for-ukraine.com/ - an information hub with different kinds of support (accommodation, legal assistance, work, education) - for all those affected by the war, paying special attention to the country’s film community alongside people from socially marginalized groups (LGBTQ+, BPOC, women, children and national minorities). It soon became apparent that gathering information was not enough and the group became involved in many direct aid campaigns. They met more and more people and learned about their tragic fates. All these wonderful creative people who should be focused on creating great stories and images are now fighting for their country, shooting war footage risking their lives, helping others. They were often left with no means of livelihood, no homes, and no possibilities of earning an income. Therefore, Filmmakers for Ukraine decided to create a fund to collect money in order to provide fast and efficient financial help to their fellows filmmakers in need. The fund is designed to support individuals directly, without unnecessary paperwork and with minimal administrative costs. The fund operates transparently and is allocated with the help of an international commission including Ukrainian experts. Funds from this project are earmarked for providing vital medical and safety supplies (list also available for potential in kind sponsorship email connect@newmoonfilms.com).

NEW MOON Films is a non-profit filmmaking company supporting film education and diversity of voices in the media in the US. We are joining Filmmakers for Ukraine to help throughout their foundation to effect immediate and impactful change for the individuals most effected by the war.
