About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 45 minutes

Join us for a virtual screening of Heirloom, a short documentary directed by Emmy nominee Michela Maria and starring Isabella Rossellini (Conclave, Blue Velvet) about a mother and daughter who set out to discover why Italian Americans still love to garden. Inspired by Michela’s lifelong confusion over her mother’s gardening obsession, Heirloom follows mother and daughter as they reconnect with their Italian roots, meet notable Italians such as Isabella Rossellini and even travel back to the motherland itself. After the film presentation there will be a Q&A session with Heirloom’s director Michela Maria and its producer Taylor Taglianetti. Italian Charities of America honored Taylor Taglianetti with the Italian American Ambassador Award in 2024 at their 88th Annual Dinner Dance Gala.

Heirloom is a recipient of the Russo Brothers Italian American Film Forum grant. Spearheaded by Hollywood directors Anthony and Joe Russo (Avengers: End Game, Captain America: Civil War), the Forum funds films about the Italian American experience for the benefit of future generations. Heirloom was helmed by Michela Maria, an Emmy-nominated director living and working in Los Angeles. Heirloom was produced by Taylor Taglianetti, the director/producer of the feature documentary “What’s Next?” and the founder and President of the National Organization of Italian Americans in Film & Television (NOIAFT).
