Meet at El Toro Bravo Mexican Restaurant in Truckee to get your first poker card, ride pin and map. Coffee and doughnuts provided complements of Mike "El Toro". Last minute registrants are welcome!

10:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Ride the Twisty Course


Aim to arrive at the historic Diamond-S Ranch by 1:30. This will allow plenty of time to upgrade your hand if desired, decode your poker hand for the contest, and enter the "Sweetest Ride" contest. F...

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Festivities at the Ranch


Upgrade your poker at the paint ball shoot if you so desire. As soon as you are ready, have your hand decoded. Enter your bike in the "sweetest ride" contest and vote for your favorite. Fun trophies ...

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Prizes and winners


Winning poker hands will be announced. Silent auction and other activities will be concluded.

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM

End of a perfect day


Relax, pack up your treasures and enjoy live music until 4:00. Have a safe trip home!

About this event

Support the growth and development of young people in the rural Sierra Valley communities by participating in this fun event. The Emily Jane Wilbanks Memorial Fund provides financial support in the form of academic and athletic scholarships, leadership training, and grants to local youth.

This scenic poker run will give you a fantastic "twisty" experience as you tour the mountains, rivers, and lakes of the Northeastern Sierras on your bike. Begin your tour at the EL Toro Bravo Mexican Restaurant in Truckee to get your instructions and your ride pin. Your trek will cover 90 miles of beautiful curving Sierra Nevada highway from Truckee north into the Lakes Basin, Graeagle, and Lake Davis areas. Finish in the beautiful Sierra Valley at the historic Diamond S Ranch. There you'll be treated to bar-b-que, live music, games, and awards in a beautifully restored Sierra Valley Barn. Ticket prices on this site are discounted $5.00 from "day of" registration prices. Due to the charitable nature of this event, it will be "rain or shine", no refunds.

Yes. You will receive your custom annual pin at the event start and onsite registration in Truckee.

What trophies are awarded?

Fun trophies include: furthest travel to the start point (Road Warrior), Longest facial hair (Best Beard or Mustache), Tallest participant (Tall Drink of Water), Smallest participant (Best Things Come in Small Packages), eldest participant (Most Distinguished) Best Poker Hand, Worst Poker Hand

How do proceeds benefit local youth?

Over the past 20 years the fund has granted over $60,000 to: anti-bullying programs, critical thinking training, educational and athletic scholarships, foreign exchange opportunities, leadership training, and supplies and equipment for our schools and sports teams.
