Join the excitement as the School of Arts and Culture (SOAC) kicks off its festival season with its third annual Fiesta del Mariachi (FDM) celebration on Saturday, July 27, at the Mexican Heritage Plaza (La Plaza). Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández takes the stage at FDM, captivating mariachi fans with their fresh and vibrant interpretations of traditional harmonies and iconic hits like “Yo Puedo Hacer” and “El Carretero Se Va.”

East San José never forgets its ties with local artists and musicians. As such, FDM embraces homegrown talent by featuring Bay Area legends Mariachi Azteca alongside other local mariachi groups on its stage. FDM is not just a mariachi concert; it's a celebration of the community. La Plaza's FDM brings diverse offerings, from savory food vendors to refreshing beer options and local crafts vendors.

Quote from Edgar Ochoa, Director of Community Engagement:

“We take immense pride in our event's caliber and adeptness in highlighting talents from local and distant locales. Within the Plaza, every seat is a good seat, and we look forward to welcoming guests of all ages to enjoy the beauty of Mariachi music.”
