In concluding Pride Month and to honor the legacy of resistance brought forth by Trans Women, Butch Lesbians, and Queer Youth at the Stonewall Riots that occurred in the late June of 1969 against police violence, we at REACH LA proudly invite you to celebrate and commemorate the 55th anniversary of this historical movement at our Fierce and Fearless Poetry Open-Mic night at Las Fotos Project (2210 E Cesar E Chavez Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90033 in Boyle Heights)
The theme for this year’s Fierce and Fearless Poetry is Semillas de Resistencia “Seeds of Resistance'' in which we will have a spectacular night with sounds by DJ Succubus (@theonlysuccubus), photography by @cinematiczunderground, musical performance by the magical Meryahcology (@meryacology)and a drag performance by the beautiful and talented Bibi Discoteca (@bibidiscoteca), and lastly our artistically powerful MC and headlining poet Sarah Gail (@sarahgail)
Free food, drinks, and HIV testing kits and other resources will be provided on a first come, first serve basis so please RSVP and show up early to celebrate yourself, community, and the history of resisting oppression against all peoples globally.
