Maine House of Comedy "A funny place to call home" presents Field Notes Comedy Open Mic EVERY SUNDAY at Free Street Restaurant and Cocktail Bar located at 77 Free Street in the heart of Downtown Portland.

List out at 7:30 PM mic starts at 8:00 PM list capped at 20 comedians. Show up early if you intend on performing to ensure a spot.

Hosted by a rotation of Maine comedian hosts - Stephen Barton, Josh Marquis, Amanda Reynolds-Gregg, Caleb Sherman, Chris Neuguth, Pat Neuguth, and Jack Wronski passing 2 years since Maine House of Comedy started with the launch of Sunday in Portland's best comedy event and one of the top mics in New England.

Whether you've never done comedy before, are a seasoned open micer, or a professional working out new material and trying grow this is mic is about growth and development in comedy. With producers in attendance, previously held pro series panels with New England industry members having an open discussion with professional comedians.

Support the venue and support local comedy as they workshop rough draft sets. Comedians feel free to asks hosts and house comics for feedback. The mic is about growth and performances. Audience attendance welcome and encouraged and is free and as always...Take notes

How much time do we get?

Time is dependent on comedian turn out. We cap at 20 comedians with 5 minute sets minimum. To ensure you get on show up early the list goes out at 7:30 PM

Can I record comedians sets?

If you're a comedian or friend of a comedian you can record their set with their consent alot of these jokes are rough drafts and not finished for paid performances.

Is it free to sign up?

Yes Field Notes comedy open mic is completely free to sign up for and free to attend as an audience member we only ask that you support the venue - buy a drink, get food, they've allowed us to be creative in their space and you're supporting a local business.

Marcus Cardona is a Filipino-American comedian, writer, and producer originally from Buxton, Maine. Residing between Brooklyn and Maine for his comedy career accumulating a reputation as one of the best independent comedians and comedy show producers. Former assistant manager at Brooklyn House Of Comedy and known for Cabin Fever at Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine he partnered with Free Street Restaurant and Bar as comedy event manager for his indie comedy venue Maine House of Comedy "a funny place to call home" to fill the comedy absence of Empire Comedy Club.
