The Cat and The Fiddle

BUILDING ON THE FOUNDATION:The focus of this class is for people that have already developed the basics of playing the fiddle and are able to play some tunes. We will be drawing from the old time repertoire to explore techniques that give old time fiddle tunes unique expression. Working in the aural tradition (no written handouts will be provided), the class will aim to inspire confidence in one&#x27;s own ability to practice, move forward and learn new tunes. We will focus on basic elements of music such as tone, rhythm, intonation and melody. By using these elements to teach simple, fun tunes, students will be directed, and given access to realizing their personal goals.Be sure to bring a recording device.Feel free to contact me about any concerns or questions - samjoe@juno.comV﻿ENUE: This event is hosted by The Cat and The Fiddle . The workshop itself will take place directly across the street from The Cat and The Fiddle in the &#x27;Living Waters of Capon Bridge&#x27; building (What use to be part of the old middle school) in the fellowship hall room. Signs will be posted the day of the event showing you where to go.COST: This is a &#x27;pay what you can&#x27; event. Suggested donation of $10-20 per person. Donation can be made through Eventbrite when reserving your spot, or with cash/check the day of the event.
