FHFA’s Insurance Symposium will bring together stakeholders to address current and pending threats to homeowners for obtaining adequate insurance coverage at reasonable rates as the consequences of climate change continue to manifest in an increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters. We hope this symposium will be a forum to discuss creative ideas to address risk mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The symposium will bring viewpoints from borrowers, industry, and government covering insurance topics including affordability and access, insured risks, claims processing, resiliency improvements, insurer viability and solvency, and other industry challenges.
Carolyn Kousky, Associate Vice President for Economics and Policy at the Environmental Defense Fund will provide keynote remarks. FHFA Director Sandra Thompson will also provide remarks.
Our panel discussions will offer analysis and viewpoints from state insurance commissioners, insurance carriers, lenders, borrowers, and resiliency experts.
Join us in person at Constitution Center or virtually (via Zoom) on November 14 – 15. Breakfast and registration check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14.
