Join the Society and Recreation department of the North York Central Library in Rm. 101 for monthly screenings of fiction and non-fiction films that push the boundaries of the medium. This month's title is David Lynch's The Straight Story (1999).

Synopsis: Based on a true story about 73-year-old Alvin Straight who embarks on a dangerous and emotional journey to mend his relationship with an ill brother. Alvin can no longer drive a car because of his eyesight and has to walk with 2 canes, so he climbs aboard his John Deere lawnmower and drives the 260-mile course from Iowa to Wisconsin.
