Not your average pickle! Let's get together with the UC Master Food Preservers and learn how to create tangy fermented pickles. During the workshop their expert teachers will guide you in creating your own jar of fermented pickles, which you will make from scratch! You'll go home with a jar of pickles to ferment to perfection and the knowledge to take on more pickling projects. Please register, as there will be limited space for walk-ins. 
Before and after the workshop their expert teachers will also be on hand to answer additional questions and we will have a variety of pickling supplies for sale.

"Preserve today, relish tomorrow!" <A HREF="http://cesanmateo.ucanr.edu/Programs/Food_Preservation_and_Food_Safety/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="UCCE Master Food Preservers" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">UC Master Food Preserver Volunteers</A> are trained and certified to educate the community on safe food preservation practices, such as pickling, drying, freezing, and both water bath and pressure canning. They offer a variety of <A HREF="http://cesanmateo.ucanr.edu/Programs/Food_Preservation_and_Food_Safety/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="classes" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">fun classes</A> throughout San Mateo and San Francisco counties.

FAQs
Where exactly is the event?
The big white tent at Spark Social SF, also called the 'Backstage'. We will be easy to spot, but if you run into trouble, text Emily at 408.887.2882.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No - but adults must accompany their kids and the activity is hands-on for ages 13 and up only.
What time should I arrive?
Workshop will start at 7pm. Teachers will be on hand at 6:30pm to answer general questions and will have pickling supplies for sale, so come early if you are interested.
What can I bring into the event?
Just yourself; all materials will be provided.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope!
Do I have to RSVP?
If you want a spot, yes. There will be limited room for walk-ins.
