Led by Flora Spivak, the organizer of the Somerville Fermentation Festival, this beginner-friendly introduction will cover the fundamentals of fermenting vegetables. You'll learn how and why fermentation works, how to keep your ferments safe and when to toss, and the benefits of making and eating fermented foods. You'll make and take home your own one-quart jar of fermenting pickles along with a printed pickle recipe.
