Please join the Public Affairs Committee as we welcome Hans Zieger, president of the Jack Miller Center, for a presentation on whether America’s foundational documents and ideas can bring us together as fellow citizens.

America’s foundational documents—The Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights—established our form of government and they continue to secure our inalienable rights as American citizens. Among the foundational ideas are that all people are created equal, people have fundamental rights, such as liberty, free speech, freedom of religion, due process of law, and freedom of assembly. America’s revolutionaries openly discussed, debated, and fought and died for these ideas.

A recent RealClear/Trafalgar survey sponsored by the Jack Miller Center shows that 89 percent of parents agree that it is very important for their child(ren) to have “a basic understanding of The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the responsibilities of citizenship before they graduate from high school.”
