TICKET(S) WILL BE REFUNDED IF YOUR TOUR IS CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON.About this event: Enjoy a unique and educational rafting tour on the Feather River this fall, while learning how to conserve our threatened spring-run Central Valley Chinook Salmon! Tours will float through active spawning habitat, while a Department of Water Resources scientist presents general Chinook Salmon conservation information, as well as specific details about research, monitoring, and restoration projects in the Feather River.A skilled rafting guide will paddle for you, so you can relax and enjoy! Rafting adventures begin at the Feather River Fish Hatchery in Oroville and end downstream at Bedrock Park or Riverbend Park, depending on weather conditions. This section of the Feather River is considered a Class I (easy) rafting trip, meaning that waves are small and regular with some riffles. Each session can accommodate three rafts, which seat 8-9 guests each. After the tour, a free shuttle will return you to the Feather River Fish Hatchery where you parked.Meet at the Feather River Fish Hatchery, below the historic green bridge: 5 Table Mountain Blvd., Oroville, CA 95965Parking is available next to the boat launch below the historic green bridge. Alternatively, you can park in the lower parking lot (by the Fish Barrier Dam and viewing windows) and then walk along the Fish Ladder to the meeting location below the historic green bridge. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Risk Acknowledgement Forms, life jacket fitting, and safety instructions will be provided BEFORE the tour launches. If you're late, you may miss your boat!Restroom Facilities: Restrooms are located at the lower parking lot (near the Fish Barrier Dam and viewing windows). Please use the restroom, prior to checking in. Restroom facilities are also available at the end of the tour. Target Audience: Due to availability of life jacket sizes, rafting is available for guests ages 5 to adult. Available life jacket sizes include: Child (33-55 pounds), Youth (&gt;55-88 pounds), or Adult (&gt;90 pounds, max chest size = 58 in.)Accessibility: The raft launch site below the historic green bridge is accessible by steep stairs (handrail not available) or by walking down the nearby gravel boat launch ramp. To enter and exit the rafts, guests will be stepping in ankle-deep water, so sturdy water shoes and quick-dry clothing are recommended. Water temperatures range between 46-56 F this time of year.
