About this event

  • 4 hours

Feel the joy of finding the perfect color of flowers and skip the pain of having them wilt and decay in a few weeks with these fused glass blooms. In this class, you will use glass fusing methods to create a set of five fanciful flowers (approx. 4 in in diameter) that will brighten your space forever. You will learn how to cut glass flower shapes, and then use enamel paint, glass frit, and stringer to embellish them. A variety of transparent glass colors will be available for you to choose from. After class, your instructor will fuse and slump each piece to create a sculptural bloom and mount them on a copper stem. Completed flowers may be picked up the next week. Flowers are suitable for interior or exterior use.

Your instructor, Steve Bay, is a glass artist who creates sculpture and jewelry using flameworking and fusing (@stevebayglass). Steve applies his marine biology research background to capture the beauty and remarkable design of nature in his art. Class size is limited to eight persons to ensure personal attention from the instructor. Participants must be at least 13 years of age. For safety, please wear long pants and closed toe shoes. All supplies and materials will be provided. Questions? Contact Steve at burnedfingers18@gmail.com .
