<P>Join Teen Services for a day of workshops, demos, special guests, games, prizes, a cosplay contest, and more! All ages and fandoms welcome.</P>
<P>Cosplayers: We encourage you to come dressed up, but please note that per library policy, firearms and/or weapons of any sort, including fake ones, are not allowed on library premises.</P>

<H4><STRONG>Cosplay Workshop</STRONG></H4>

<P>Learn techniques to help create your favorite character as a cosplay from the experienced cosplayers and costumers of Cosplay Collective. Learn the best ways to plan, build, and present your cosplay and receive pointers on sewing, crafting armor, making props, and how to embellish the details. Drop in any time during the NPL Fandom Fest!</P>
<H4><STRONG>Studio NPL Open House with VR Station</STRONG><BR></H4>
<P>10:30 – 3:00 p.m.<BR>Studio NPL</P>
<P>Learn more about the library’s Studio NPL program during the NPL Fandom Fest Kickoff. Explore the space through various STEAM activities and demos, including virtual reality.</P>
<H4><STRONG>Board Game Free Play</STRONG></H4>
<P>10:30 – 3:00 p.m.<BR>Teen Center</P>
<P>Hang out and play your favorite board games during the NPL Fandom Fest Kickoff. Bring your own games or play one of ours. NPL game librarians and the folks from Meeple Mountain will be on hand to offer recommendations and even teach you how to play something new.</P>

<P>Choose from a geeky assortment of books and movies during the NPL Fandom Fest Kickoff. Cash or credit only.</P>
<H4><STRONG>Creating Comics with Michael Lapinski</STRONG></H4>
<P>11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. <BR>Conference Room 1A</P>
<P>Have you ever wanted to be a comic creator? Learn the fundamentals about the history and techniques of comic storytelling and put them to use by making your own comic strip and comic page. </P>
<H4><STRONG>Nerdy PUBlic Library Trivia</STRONG><BR></H4>

<P>Think you know all there is to know about your and everyone else’s fandoms? Come geek out with Nerdy PUBlic Library Trivia. From Harry Potter to The Hunger Games, your party could win fabulous prizes and, of course, bragging rights of possibly beating the Demogorgon once & for all! May the Force Be With You!</P>

<P>Who knew drinking your veggies could be so delicious? We’ll fire up the blender and taste-test simple smoothie recipes to get you feeling energized and satisfied. Presented by Be Well at NPL.</P>
<H4><STRONG>Fiction Writing Focus: World Building with Anna Silverstein</STRONG><BR></H4>

<P>You've probably had the experience of opening a book and being transported into an immersive, other world. As writers, how do we create those other worlds so that they feel real to the reader, even though they come from our own imaginations? In this workshop, you'll practice different writing strategies for building worlds that are complex, surprising, and captivating. </P>

<P>Think you got what it takes to be the Mario Kart champion? Join fellow gamers for a friendly competition organized by Nashville GLBT Gaymers and Friends.</P>
<H4><STRONG>The Hidden Library: D&D Live-play</STRONG></H4>
<P>2:00 – 3:00 p.m.<BR>Conference Room 3</P>
<P>Join us for a Dungeons & Dragons live-play event that dives deep into the caverns that lay beneath the downtown library in Nashville! Three lucky audience members will join the Dungeon Master on stage to roleplay and roll dice to defeat monsters, wizards, ghouls, and maybe even a dragon. Will you dare to enter The Hidden Library?</P>
<H4><STRONG>Game of Robes: Cosplay Contest & Finale</STRONG><BR></H4>
<P>3:00 – 4:00 p.m.<BR>Conference Room 1A</P>
<P>Do you have a penchant for dressing up? Ever wish you could be one of the characters you love so much? Is Halloween one of your favorite holidays, not for the candy but for the costumes? Test your cosplay skill at our 1st Annual Cosplay Contest. Nashville's own expert Cosplay Collective will serve as our judges.
