We know it's not easy coming to terms with your loved one's addiction. There are several different ways families typically react: anger, sadness, relief, guilt, and denial are just a few examples of how people respond to addiction. It's important to note that no reaction or feeling is wrong, but there are methods to manage and communicate these feelings in a healthy, productive manner.

Behaviors within the family system typically lead to everyone taking on certain roles --the hero, mascot, scapegoat, and others. The parts played by family members may lead to codependency, and members make decisions concerning what the other person needs versus taking good care of themselves first. Ultimately, the parts people play shape their sense of self and identity.

Join us on July 18th at 6 pm as we explore how families respond to their loved one's addiction and the ways it impacts the person's recovery journey.
