Join us for storytime with Alexandra Alessandri and Jackie Morera reading from their stories Lupita's Hurricane Palomitas and Abuelo's Flower Shop (Beaming Books,$17.99)

Family Day at Aragon is on the second Saturday of every month in partnership with the Coral Gables Museum and the Coral Gables Art Cinema. This program is made possible by a grant from the Coral Gables Community Foundation and sponsorship from by Grove Bank & Trust.

About the Authors:

Alexandra Alessandri is the award-winning author of several books for children, including Feliz New Year, Ava Gabriela!, Isabel and Her Colores go to School, The Enchanted Life of Valentina Mejía, and Our World: Colombia. The daughter of Colombian immigrants, she is also an educator, a writer for Curriculum Associates, and a poet. Alexandra lives in Florida with her husband and son.

Jackie Morera is a Cuban-American author of books for young readers of all ages. Born and raised in Miami, Jackie now lives in Central Florida with her husband, son, and goofy pup. She enjoys telling stories, savoring pastelitos, and cozying up for a good nap. Abuelo's Flower Shop, illustrated by Deise Lino, is her debut picture book and is loosely based on her experience with her grandparents who sold flowers from a cart in front of their Miami home across from Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North Cemetery.
